What do I get with GearBuddy Plus?
If filmmaking is your hobby, the free plan has you covered — 30 gear items, 3 shoots, 3 rentals, and you can already share your gear with friends. For working professionals, GearBuddy Plus removes all limits. Invite crew to your shoots so everyone can add their own gear, track unlimited paid rentals, and manage as many items as you own. Only one person on the team needs to be on Plus. Available monthly (€9.99/mo) or annually (€89.99/yr, saves 25%). See Pricing for a full comparison.
Does GearBuddy work offline?
Yes — fully. View and edit your gear, shoots, and rentals without an internet connection. Changes sync automatically when you reconnect. Built for on-set and remote location use.
Can I share my gear list with my crew?
With GearBuddy Plus, you can add friends and control exactly what they see — private, view-only, or full access per person. Great for DPs, gaffers, and ACs who need to know what's available without handing over the keys.
How do subscriptions work?
Subscriptions for the Plus plan are handled by Apple. Subscribing, cancellation, and refunds work according to their guidelines. You can always manage your subscription by tapping your profile icon in the app.
How do I get an invoice?
Billing management for Plus subscriptions is handled by Apple. If you require an invoice for your subscription, go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account. Invoices from Apple usually become available 24–48 hours after a purchase has been made. We're currently building Workspace accounts for production companies, which will include proper taxable invoicing and VAT billing.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored securely on EU servers (Supabase, Ireland). Authentication is handled through Apple, Google, or a one-time login code sent to the email you signed up with.
If you want to delete your account, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and your data is permanently removed. Find the full details on how your data is handled in our Privacy Policy.
Since this is a work environment app, we aim to keep things professional. We solemnly swear to never annoy you with ads, never sell your data, and never remove free access to the app and shoots for collaborators.
